I guess I know next to nothing about computers. I do know that 4 is d though. =D

3 Name: MC : 2008-02-06 20:21 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Pfft it's not necessary to know THAT MUCH about a computer... all I need to know is it works and is running and that's it ^_-

4 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-06 20:51 ID:IfCgmyNf [Del]

7 and 9 are pretty imprtant.

5 Name: MC : 2008-02-07 20:59 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Eh, like I said before I don't pay attention to my computer problems, my parents do. ^_^ but it is a PC and it's RAM is 512

6 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-07 23:16 ID:IfCgmyNf [Del]

I'm not surprised you have a PC...
But what Operating System do you have?
And 512MB RAM is decent.

7 Name: MC : 2008-02-08 22:28 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Um, it's a "Windows XP" if that's what you mean...

8 Name: juls-times-2 : 2008-02-08 22:31 ID:fKqjj78f [Del]

11 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-09 08:54 ID:wbDdjAD7 [Del]

lol Vista.

Keep your DRM-infested, completely insecure, bloated, POS excuse for an Operating System.
I've got Linux and I'm proud.

I got windows vista ultimate, so suck on that! lol.

Oh God.
I feel bad for you.

14 Name: Samek : 2008-02-11 00:47 ID:GLHeW5ap [Del]

Vista is a great operating system.

15 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-11 16:30 ID:IfCgmyNf [Del]

Compared to what?
Windows ME?

16 Name: curious person : 2008-02-11 16:37 ID:rlrr8LaC [Del]

My brother > all operating systems in existence.
That's right. My brother's an operating system.

17 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-11 16:52 ID:IfCgmyNf [Del]

CP, Operating Systems are comprised of software only.

Unless you have a digital brother o.O
(that would be awesome by the way)

18 Name: juls-times-2 : 2008-02-11 20:06 ID:fKqjj78f [Del]

I wanna digital brotherrrr....

XP

"CP, Operating Systems are comprised of software only."

OMGNOWAI. O_O[/sarcasm]

And he might as well be digital, he has two Alphas in his apartment that he got for no reason other than to satisfy his inner nerd.

I have 8 computers that are from before 1999 in my room for the same reason.

21 Name: curious person : 2008-02-11 23:11 ID:rlrr8LaC [Del]

Are you attempting to make this into a competition? Not that I care about what you do with your free time, just wondering.

22 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-12 19:34 ID:IfCgmyNf [Del]

Sure.
How much do you mess around with computers in your spare time?

23 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-13 21:44 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

bump

24 Name: curious person : 2008-02-14 03:06 ID:rlrr8LaC [Del]

I don't, really. Other than Photoshop and iMovie, both of which have a lot to do with my preferred career.

But I do know enough to fix most of the problems that occur on my computer. Not that there are many. :/

<this is julstimes2 at school>

I don't really play around either. I'm afraid I'll mess something up. So yeah. If the internet and photoshop works, then I'm good. :>

26 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-14 14:49 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

sigh
You two are the kind of people who are preventing Linux from having a commercially recognizable userbase, and thus keeping Microsoft's monopoly in place...
And yet you'd be perfectly fine with Linux...
Anyways, just at least take this:
http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/
(It's going to say what kind of computer you want to install it on, in which case just put in whichever one you use regularly; you don't need to be installing it)

27 Name: curious person : 2008-02-14 15:27 ID:rlrr8LaC [Del]

And it's people like you who make me glad I know what nature is. You'd be perfectly fine without a computer. People have been for centuries.

And I'll stick with my mac, thank you very much.

28 Name: That Kid Who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-14 16:22 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

Oh, please.
You act as if I have no life outside.
I just went cross country skiing for two hours, satisfied?

29 Name: MC : 2008-02-14 16:48 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Lol, "kid that knows a lot about computers" u don't have anything to prove to "curious person" about your life outside the computer.

30 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-14 17:47 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

Do you even bother reading the post above yours?
It would be much appreciated.

31 Name: MC : 2008-02-14 18:05 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

U told him about u going cross country skiiing as in an example of your life outside of the computer to prove that you're life isn't nothing but the computer...

...freak out on the only person sticking up for you, now I see what kinda person you are. jeeeeeeeeeeerk

32 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-14 18:58 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

sigh If I may quote you...
"Lol, "kid that knows a lot about computers" u don't have anything to prove to "curious person" about your life outside the computer."
Sure were sticking up for me there (' )_(' )
Also, curious person is a girl, something that I happen to know.

33 Name: MC : 2008-02-14 19:21 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Okay who cares? I was just sticking up for you and u got attitudinal with me. Yeesh.

34 Name: That kid who knows a lot about computers : 2008-02-14 19:34 ID:wAIloARJ [Del]

The point is that you weren't sticking up for me, you were doing quite the opposite.

35 Name: MC : 2008-02-14 19:46 ID:3NLHh7oE [Del]

Um, I know what I was doing and what i was doing was sticking up to for you... u just took it the wrong way. Okay I'll label this all a misunderstanding.

36 Name: curious person : 2008-02-14 23:33 ID:rlrr8LaC [Del]

You seem to have missed my point entirely. There are more important things than computers. I'm focusing my efforts on learning how to preserve those things, which is the main reason I don't care about something as insignificant as an operating system.

Your arguments are implying that Microsoft is doing more to the world than simply forcing the general public to have access to sub-par technology, which in the long run won't make any difference, because the people who rely on technology to protect and/or help people can generally acquire the best out there.

To put it simply, you're making a mountain out of a molehill and getting uptight about people not caring what you say. If giving Linux a fighting chance is really your main goal in life, then major in computer science in college and learn to make convincing arguments in the correct environment. This is an anime forum, and I believe there's already plenty of proof that nobody is going to really care about what you have to say.
